Despite my MISERABLE morning, today got a lot better.

After 4, when I got out of the chemistry loop, and into some Daft Punk, everything was brilliant. The new QC was cood because it had SVEN! The best half Swedish, half Italian womaniser in the world of comics.

So, that was good. Then I played a little bit of COD:4, also a good thing to do to make yourself feel better.

Anyway, mood aside, I've got little to say today. The QCForums are mine, and err, thats it.

Where is everyone tonight? Is there a public holiday happening that I somehow missed out on? I swear its just Wednesday night, yet there isn't a single person on MSN/Myspace/Facebook.

Please god tell me I haven't missed something huge.

The Daft Punk album "Discovery" is so good I wish I had known about it before 4:30PM today. Although it lulls a bit at track 6 ("Nightvision") it more than makes up for it. After all, it has:

which is more or less the best opening to an album I've heard since ever, and at least until I make my dream mixtape, although I wonder if dance and misery music = Epic Fail.

Anyway, I really should stop. We are less than 500 characters from an interpol album review, and my hyperbole medication ran out. Ahaha.

I think this entire blog was, to all extents and purposes, a phenomenal example of what I can achieve when I put my mind to something. That is to say, sweet naff all. So, I figured I'd better try and sort this out.

As such, I have decided to take several steps to combat this.

The WoW stuff is gonna get rare. And I mean like mating pandas, intelligent footballers rare.* Sure, it might happen, but please, don't hold your breath.*

I will use this site as two things:

A soap box, of sorts. I straight up LOVE complaining

A place to post whatever webcomic/game/nerdfest I'm into at the moment

A place to beg for comments, just so I have ~~someone to talk to~~ something better than work to read

I'll do my level best to post a few times a week.**

I won't shame myself with a hit counter. I don't think they come in 2 column edition

And thats it. Not quite the 12 steps of AA Self-Help fame, but still. Hopefully it'll make things better.

So get ready for a bonafide, genuine barf-o-rama.

Thats if I can be arsed to post after my initial flurry tonight.

Can't Cook, Won't Cook, Will Starve

Why, Blizzard, do you have to make cooking so horribly depressing? I don't want to go and kill 10¹² boars just so I can get past 100 skill. Can't we just undergo chef training, and get immediate 375, for say, 50 gold? I really, really would like to have a constant supply of [Warp Burgers] but I really don't want the hellish amount of westfall boar liver grinding it would require to make them. So please, a complete overhaul of the secondary profession system would be mucho appreciato. Or whatever. B in Spanish, baby.

Segundo Punto: The Talbuk/Clefthoof/Windroc Mastery quests are a depressing return to Stranglethorn Hole's questing methods. 30 is too many. 15 would be nice. I KNOW its good XP, and I do eventually get a nice gun, but still. It's dull, and I want to have fun. Nagrand is gorgeous, so can't we have a sightseeing/photography questline? Best shot of Oshu'gun each day rewards some Kurenai/Consortium rep. That'd be nice. Make it happen!

Why You Are Better Than A Warlock (WYABTAW)

Big night tonight. Another post! Within, what, 15 minutes of the old one. The addiction returns.

Anyway. Yes, you, as a hunter, are better than a warlock. Better how, you may ask? Well, in every way, I may answer.
Yes thats right. There is nothing a warlock can do that you can't do better. But I don't mean in raids, or anything of that sort. I mean, in terms of how DAMN cool you are. But where is your evidence? WHERE, DAMNIT?
Chill out, sweetcheeks. Its coming.

Number one, you have a pet. BUT SO DO THE LOCKS! Yes. But they have to drag said pet from another realm and force it to do as they say. Even then, the newly summoned demons complain about this alot. Whereas you, you get yours by sauntering over, and just being cool in its general direction. At first, you may seem arrogant to the (insert pet type here) and it will try to put you in your place. But with a little bit of time, they'll come to realise just how excellent you are, and happily trot around alongside you, never complaining. And that, is one reason why you are better.

Number two, you get some sweet looking gear. Warlocks, they get their evil, dark looking stuff, and strut about all smug. But you get your demon stalker armour, and lo and behold, you have FEL CANNONS FOR SHOULDERS! Could you be any cooler? No.

Number three, you don't wear a dress. Period.

And point numero cuatro, you, yes you there, you get to do something that no other class in the game gets to do. You get to have a pet tiger. A pet tiger, for christ's sake. You're like Siegfried and Roy, crossed with Rambo. And if thats not the best thing ever, then I'll eat my [Helm of Lupine Grace]

How not to Hunter

Melee attacks over ranged everytime. Seriously, its the only way to do things. No namby-pamby, hide-behind-a-tree-with-a-gun-stuff for you. You want to be at minimum range at all times.
Don't use a pet. Thats just cowardly. Take hits like a real man or, for those of the fairer sex, real woman.
The best gear for you is, without a doubt, stuff with +spirit and +strength. [Gloomshroud Armour] is obviously what you want. Its blue, so it must be good.
Never, ever use feign death. Again, its just for pansies, so avoid it. You want as much aggro as you can get.

If you follow those simple rules, you'll be soloing heroics at 50. Trust me.

Professions

So, I hate to go against BRK. But I cannot find it in my heart to say professions suck. I even advocate crafting, but thats gonnna get me a slapped wrist. Yet I'm willing to take that hit for you. Thats dedication...

Skinning: Yes, take it, yes yes yes. Damn easy to level, regardless where you are. You'll always find yourself covered in skinnable mobs, and there is plenty in the mats to be utilised. For one, stacks sell, for less than ore, but they can be gathered while GAINING XP! How is that even allowed? It's mad.

A Treasure Trove of... well skins. Yeuch.

Ruined Leather Scraps - Turn 3 into 1 Light Leather, 1 leatherworking
Light Leather - Turn 4 into 1 Medium Leather, 100 leatherworking
Medium Leather - Turn 5 into 1 Heavy Leather, 150 leatherworking
Heavy Leather - Turn 6 into 1 Thick Leather, 200 leatherworking
Thick Leather - Turn 6 into 1 Rugged Leather, 250 leatherworking
Knothide Leather Scraps - Turn 5 into 1Knothide Leather, 300 leatherworking
Knothide Leather - Turn 5 into 1 Heavy Knothide Leather, 325 leatherworking

And of course, there are tons of specialist leathers, that you can look up for yourself, lazy.

But what is this "leatherworking"? The devils work, surely?

Not quite. Its a nice way of making your own armour. Full self sufficiency! Who wouldn't want it? Well, many people since BC came out. But for a little while, it'd be nice, say to level 30. Then you can drop it for mining, and earn tons and tons of moolah.

Here are a few of the nice items you can make for yourself:

[Deviate Scale Gloves]
[Deviate Scale Belt]
[Dark Leather Leggings]

The rest you can find for yourself. But thats nice gear, that is. So give leatherworking a try, just for a little bit at least. You'll look, well, damn kinky in home made leather gear. And who doesn't want that when they're trying to get a healer to come with them? I sure as hell do!

And yes, you can go level mining and get rich off of your adamantite if you must. Enjoy yourself, Captain Standard. You are, effectively, a bot.

So, I don't expect this blog to be massively popular. I don't expect a great deal of it, IMHO. But, I set out to achieve a few things.

One: To capture some of the wit of my "blogging influences"
Two: To make y'all understand why WoW is the best thing that ever happened to nerds
Three: To provide a nice staging ground for your first forays into "the internets" and its wealth of ~~knowledge~~ lies

What do you mean you're a "pure" WoW-er?

Lets face it. If you're not using addons, and you don't have a DAMN good reason, then you're not running anything with me. None of this "but I like the Blizzard interface" BS, I'm not interested. There a few things you need to know, soldier. And I ain't gonna be the one to molly coddle you and drag your sorry ass through runs you're not capable of keeping up with. You'll get your advice, and then you'll go, k?

Consider this standard addon fare. Get these, get in your groups and gtho.

KLH Threat Meter: There is no reason not to get this. If you can't see and control your threat, you wipe MY runs. And then, you pay MY repair bills, capiche? You're a prot warrior? You stay atop that list. You're anyone else? Then you don't go creeping up past that nice blue bar, ok?

Lightheaded: Makes questing sehr much easier. So less time bugging me about why you're gooey spider tendrils aren't dropping. And you may as well go the whole hog and grab Doublewide and TomTom while you're at it.

Baud Bag: If you can't organise your bags, grab this. It'll save you rummaging round for potions while every mob in ramparts beats on the priest.

You want more? Of course you do. Then grab cosmos and go roll around staring at loot in the pre BC instances. Hell, I wanted it. We all did, then we got to Outlands and our gear exploded.

And thats all your gonna be getting outta me on the addon topic, without gentle coaxing and prodding at least. And I'm open to suggestions, of course.
